For the first time in American history, a U.S. President was impeached a second time. Today, in a bi-partisan effort, the U. S. House of Representatives voted 232-197 to impeach President Donald J. Trump for incitement of insurrection, the most shameful act ever committed against the United States by a sitting President who took an oath to protect our nation.
While most of the Republican Party continues to cower in fear or grovel in servitude, ten House Republicans chose country over party and courage over fear.
Congresswomen Liz Cheney and Jaime Herrera Beutler stood strongest for their principles and defended our Constitution when others would not. As Representative Cheney stated, “There has never been a greater betrayal by a President of the United States…”
President Trump is a clear and present danger to our nation and must be removed and forever disqualified “to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust or profit under the United States.”
We now urge Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to bring the Senate back into session immediately for the trial and conviction of President Trump, so our nation can begin to heal and recover. There can be no unity or reconciliation without truth and justice first.
